Death From Above 1979 - Trainwreck 1979
I want it all
I can’t get enough
Friends - I’m His Girl
So if you love someone, let them be free
I know I don’t want no one, suffocating me
Don’t settle for ownership, make it deep
If you love someone, it should feel good to let them breathe
The Magnetic Fields - The One You Really Love
"What we are reluctant to touch often seems the very fabric of our salvation."
it is becoming increasingly easy to see how the city can drive one to a breaking point, toward a plotless destination where the only things waiting for you are frenzied and move as if propelled by combustion. the canvassers, stopping you to save environments and children in wells. homeless yelling “can u spare some change”, written as verbalized but not as inflected, voices rising over the traffic speeding and crashing through the magnificent miles and shopping districts where the tourist will stop in the middle of the street only to be ran over by the business man on a murderous mission or the youth careening from class to class or fast fashion herding center to fast feeding slop house. minutes underground turning into eternities as the mentally ill stomp up and down train cars screaming in what you think is babble, the black lines in a sunday comic strip meant to denote swearing, the lips are moving so fast all you can hear is illgetthemoneyillkillemalltheydontwantthismoneywhyiwhyiwhyi and the sound frightens you because it doesn’t sound like it can come from a person but it is and they’re trailing tattered dockers and excrement behind them, the filth and the mental hexes the only reminders that they were there. it can and has driven a person to the brink, where all of these elements that should seem surreal aren’t anymore. this is a way of life and you have gotten used to it. a sinister force works itself through the arteries of light that are supposed to be havens for those that think they can handle the pressure of living in what are supposed to be cold, inanimate, apartments and houses. if society collapses and man is forced to start from scratch, the gods worshiped and feared won’t be the sun or the moon they’ll be abandoned metropolises and darkened subway tunnels.
